E-participation model - Dissertation Example Since attitude can significantly affect their behavioral intention to use e-partipation, several studies purposely has decided to adopt the use of TAM as a way to explore and examine the end-usersââ¬â¢ attitude on e-participation (Sahari et al., 2012; Wang and Lo, 2012; Hung, Chang and Yu, 2006). To identify factors that could affect peopleââ¬â¢s intention to use the e-government system in Malaysia, Sahari et al. (2012) conducted a cross sectional study. According to Sahari et al. (2012), factors that can affect the citizenââ¬â¢s use of e-government system include not only the perceived ease of use but also other factors like ââ¬Å"perceived usefulnessâ⬠, ââ¬Å"social influenceâ⬠, ââ¬Å"attitudeâ⬠, ââ¬Å"trustâ⬠, ââ¬Å"intention to use behaviourâ⬠, ââ¬Å"ICT infrastructureâ⬠, and the ââ¬Å"personal backgroundâ⬠of each person (i.e. age, race, educational attainment, skills in using ICTs, and service group). Based on the research find ings, factors like ââ¬Å"perceived ease of useâ⬠, ââ¬Å"perceived usefulnessâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"social influenceâ⬠has a strong impact on ââ¬Å"usersââ¬â¢ attitudeâ⬠and that factors like ââ¬Å"attitudeâ⬠and ââ¬Å"trustâ⬠strongly influence the ââ¬Å"usersââ¬â¢ behavioural intentionâ⬠to use the e-government system (Sahari et al., 2012, p. 329). ... 100 ââ¬â 101). With regards to attitude behaviour, Hung, Chang and Yu (2006) conducted a primary research study which aims to examine the impact of dependent variables such as ââ¬Å"perceived usefullnessâ⬠, ââ¬Å"perceived ease of useâ⬠, ââ¬Å"perceived riskâ⬠, ââ¬Å"trustâ⬠, ââ¬Å"personal innovativenessâ⬠, and ââ¬Å"compatibilityâ⬠on attitude and the impact of attitude on the general publicââ¬â¢s intention to use e-government services. Based on the research findings, perceived usefullness, perceived ease of use, trust, personal innovativeness, and compatibility has a strong positive impact on attitude and that attitude has a positive impact on intention to use e-government services (Hung, Chang and Yu, 2006). Using on environmental factors such as ââ¬Å"subjective normsâ⬠and ââ¬Å"perceived behavioral controlâ⬠as well as the citizensââ¬â¢ attitude towards the use of internet and mobile technology in e-democracy, Nchise (2 012) purposely investigated the citizensââ¬â¢ decision on technology adoption. After examining e-democracy in the concept of ââ¬Å"planned behavioral theoryâ⬠, Nchise (2012) found out that ââ¬Å"environmental subjective norm positively influences the citizensââ¬â¢ attitude to adopt e-democracyâ⬠; ââ¬Å"citizensââ¬â¢ perceived behavioral control over e-democracy positively influences their attitude to adopt e-democracyâ⬠; and that the ââ¬Å"citizensââ¬â¢ attitude toward e-democracy positively influences their intention to adopt e-democracyâ⬠. Wang and Lo (2012) also conducted a research survey study which aims to examine factors that will somehow influence the citizensââ¬â¢ intention to use e-government websites.
